More than 13 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes since the beginning of the war. Nearly 6.5 million have moved to safer regions in Ukraine, becoming "internally displaced persons." Imagine being driven from your home far from everything you know and hold dear. With only a suitcase in your hand, and your children in your arms, you run to safety to a town dozens or hundreds of kilometers from your home. Can you possibly imagine the difficulties and expenses? Housing, food, clothing, medical care, everything that was stable and known to you is now unfamiliar and new. Our International Charitable Organization, Country of Peace, is located in Poltava, a medium sized city in eastern Ukraine. Poltava is now a logistics and coordination center for humanitarian assistance, and a safe destination for refugees from more dangerous cities in eastern Ukraine.
